Learn Classical Piano – The Easy Way to Do It
So you want to learn classical piano. That’s great! Classical piano is the most difficult type of piano out there. There are easy pieces but also extremely difficult pieces that take years to fully “learn”. Getting started the right way is very important. You want to learn the basics and you want to learn them right.
For many beginners in piano that don’t start off classically, they fail to learn the fundamental basics that really ensure great piano playing. Many that teach themselves develop poor techniques. This is bad. Especially for classical Piano Music. If you’re gonna get injured with poor technique, it’s gonna be while playing classic music.
The first step is learning how to position your hands and use your fingers the right way. If you learn this wrong you’ll reach a point when your abilities are not equal to what you want to play. Scales, arpeggios, and other exercises are great to develop your finger strength.
Classical music for the piano can take a lifetime of commitment to fully master. And there’s always that next piece to master. As a beginner in this type of music, it’s a good idea to get acquainted with the music.
Listen to various classical piano music such as Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Mozart, and Bach. These are the greats! They have many pieces you can listen to. Some are easy and some are beyond difficult. The good thing is that these easy pieces are just as beautiful, some even more, than the hard pieces. These composers knew how to write music. And that’s why their music is still played to this day.
If you already have some basic piano skills you should now start perfecting them. Make sure your technique is right. Be sure your articulation, legato, and finger positions are right.
Finger positions are very important. Especially for this type of music. If you use the wrong fingers you could end up “stuck” and feel as if you need an extra finger. This is why most classical notation music has finger numbers written in to help you learn the pieces easier.
