I Feel His Pain That Panic Attacks Causes

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

In the video below, I can really relate to this young mans search for an answer to why he is getting panic attacks. Like him, I had very bad panic attacks at one time in my life. You can sense the confusion and fear that panic attacks causes in this mans life. Like him, I hate taking pills for any reason, but when you reach the end of your rope and go to your regular Doctor, he will recommend anti-depressants. Since you are at a point that you don’t know what to do, you give in to the treatment of drugs to find a solution to the anxiety and panic attacks problem.

After some nasty side effects with several brands, I finally settled on a light dosage of Zoloft. In the short term, it helped reduce symptoms. In the long run, I did not want to become dependent on these drugs. I feel they will compromise your health in the long term. Over a time period, with my Doctors advice, I reduced my intake and then stopped taking the drugs.

Only through a combination of special techniques and awareness, diet and exercise, Tai Chi and Qi Gong meditative practices, did I get to a point of stopping panic attacks. Overcoming anxiety and panic attacks is critical to finding peace, balance, and focus in your quality of life and to be in tune with the energy in the universe.

Like a recovering or a rehabilitated alcoholic, these emotions never truly go away. They are lurking in the background. You get to a point where you understand them, can manage and control the thoughts and emotions that can bring on a panic attack. Just like an alcoholic that can not take a drink, we can control our emotions to not go there. We are no longer afraid of any anxiety or panic feelings that may lurk in our brain.

Panic attacks and general anxiety become less and less until they stop completely. The panic attacks causes that brought them on in the first place are still there, but through awareness and special techniques along with lifestyle changes, I am always on guard should any of the feelings or emotions try to re-occur.

Panic Attacks Causes Me To Take Action

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Hey, Alex here, panic attacks causes your life to be a living hell. Click here to see how to stop an anxiety attack. I know from personal experience what anxiety and panic attacks can do over time to create conflict and chaos in your mind. What is going on in your mind is like what goes on during a war on a battlefield. A war is being waged in your head, all at the expense of your well being.

My panic attacks would manifest themselves when I was driving, flying, or sitting in a public place like a theatre. I remember once in particular when I could not enjoy a Las Vegas show because of an anxiety and panic attack. I could not wait for it to be over as the attack intensified over time, all at a $100 a ticket show.

I know what you are thinking, “You were an airline pilot…..holy cow, glad I was not on your jet.” Read my About Me page for more information. I can remember flying across the Atlantic Ocean on the way to London during cruise flight at 39,000 feet in the middle of the night. The mouth would get dry, the saliva would build, the throat would constrict, and the swallowing muscles would not work very well. My mind would be racing and I wanted nothing more than to bolt out of the flight deck. Minefields were going off in my mind and yet on the outside, everything was perfectly normal, two pilots sitting there doing their duties as they cross the Atlantic. Funny, this never happened during takeoff, departure, approach, or landing. The only thing I can figure is you are so busy then and the workload is so high, there is no time for a panic attack in your mind.

I also remember the bad times, internal shaking, dizziness, an “out of body type experience”, trembling in the legs, all while laying in bed losing sleep. I tried many things to rid myself of these evil gremlins in my brain. I was on Zoloft for a short period of time. I cut back on caffeine from sodas, exercised more, watched my diet, did breathing and relaxation exercises, and practiced Tai Chi and Qi Gong in an effort to reduce stress. All of these things helped, but none of them solved or eliminated the problem that panic attacks causes.

The only straw that broke the camels back was Barry Joe McDonagh and his Panic Away system. This simple, highly effective One Move Technique eliminated my anxiety and panic attacks in a very short period of time. The only negative was me not believing that it would work based on its simplicity. I think this delayed my progress till I seriously applied some simple techniques. As soon as I saw my panic attacks and anxiety lessen and the intervals of time between episodes decrease, I became a big believer and my progress snowballed from there in a very short time. So many people for the past 7 years have been helped because of the trust and results of the system that Joe Barry provides. The norm is that rapid improvement happens when you apply and practice simple techniques and understand why. Click here to see how to stop an anxiety attack.

Anxiety and Panic Attacks Treatment

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

In the last post, I said that panic attacks causes are difficult to determine and the symptoms may be a few to many, including varying in duration and intensity. The feeling of isolation, despair, and the realization that you can not stop a panic attack or end an anxiety episode can lead to a worsening spiral of despair. This can lead to depression or a withdrawl from activities that used to be an integral part of your life.

Treatments are available in the form of diet, exercise, lifestyle change, medication, relaxation techniques, positive affirmations, stress reduction, anxiety/panic awareness programs, and the list goes on and on.

The problem is that overcoming panic attacks for good is not that easy. Many of these treatments can help to varying degrees. Some of the treatments mask the problem, but do not eliminate it. For example, medication drugs like Xanax, Zoloft, Cymbalta, Paxil, Prozac, and Valium all can help relieve the symptoms with your Doctor controlling the dosage. The problem are potential side effects and long term usage problems. Panic attacks causes lie just beneath the surface ready to rear its ugly head.

Here is a quote from the Washington Post on June 30, 2009 in an article entitled, Anti-anxiety Drugs Raise New Fears. It stated, “Health professionals and consumers are increasingly recognizing that taking the drugs (read anti-depressants) for more than a few weeks can lead to physical dependence, often ending with a grueling withdrawl.” Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

Can I be frank with you, this is not the way to deal with panic and anxiety attacks. In the next post, I will show you how I eliminated panic attacks causes and anxiety attacks for good, restored the quality of my life, resumed normal activities, and joined the world again.
