Put the Moses Basket on your Baby Shower’s Priority List!
The Moses basket is so versatile that you really should consider it when you are planning the nursery decoration for your newborn. The basket can be used in so many different situations and placed in so many different locations that it can really give you valuable peace of mind – after all, we seem to be constantly worrying about our new pride and joy.
A Moses basket is perfectly designed for portability and represents a comfortable, very cozy sleeping environment for the baby. Oftentimes, the basket can seem more natural than the cot and the baby can feel as if he or she is in a more “contained” environment. The baskets are often made from wicker or palm but can also be made from maize. As they are fairly sturdy you should have no trouble in moving them and they generally come with handles which meet in the middle. Ensure that you always have one hand underneath the basket when transporting baby within, for safety’s sake.
When it comes to sleeping arrangements, you probably like variety. For example, sometimes you may want your baby to sleep near you in your room instead of in the nursery, and you’d probably also enjoy the convenience of moving around a lightweight and portable baby bed. If you have to travel, the baby can do so quite comfortably within the Moses basket until you get to your planned destination. If you are heading for a hotel somewhere, you should know that you can also get folding stands for these baby accessories and this will enable you to place the basket and your baby at a more manageable level.
As your baby goes through its developmental stages, we know that they are always looking for a sense of security and confirmation. As mothers, we are always the primary provider of this reassurance, but the baby’s immediate surroundings are vitally important. As the Moses basket is much more contained than a conventional cot it should soothe the child’s anxiety. Most moms will tell you that if you set a Moses Basket inside a cot, the baby will become comfortable with the cot quite quickly.
Remember to select good nursery bedding items and soft, organic comforters for use within the new basket. Your goal is to create the most secure and comfortable sleeping environment as your newborn baby will spend a considerable amount of time sleeping. Don’t skimp on cost when it comes to selection. I know that our budget can be quite painful when it comes to preparing for our new arrival, but from a safety and peace of mind perspective the selection of nursery bedding and baby accessories, such as the Moses basket, should maintain a priority.
Even though the Moses basket may only be used for a few months, this part of your baby’s development is so critical, and with the flexibility that this product affords it should definitely be number one on your baby shower list.
